What I’ve Learned So Far about Church Planting

Pastor Derek Melton planted what is now Grace Life Church of Pryor in 1999. He has worked bi-vocationally as a police officer until his retirement in 2015 after 30 years of service. Pastor Derek and his wife Stacey have been sharing the gospel with troubled teens for 25 years. Three days per week the State of Oklahoma busses troubled teens to Grace Life Pryor to hear the Gospel. Two 22-week classes of 150 teens are also brought to Grace Life Church for Gospel ministry by the State. Several men and women from Grace Life Pryor labor continually to serve these needs. Grace Life Pryor has and continues to reform to biblical health. This change led to a church split in 2012 over doctrine. Since then, the church is growing and maturing in Christlikeness and stability. Pastor Derek and Stacey have been married 32 years and have two grown children and four precious grandchildren.
